Sexism Exists In The Industry: Vidya Balan
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Nov 2017 7:34 AM GMTVidya Balan clarifies she never faced sexual harassment but shares the view that sexism is everywhere. 'Sexism is something we witness everywhere in our day-to-day lives. It's about seeing everything from a male point of view,' she opined.
'The Dirty Picture' Star claims she hasn't faced such an issue in the past decade because of the kind of films (women-centric) she signed. 'I had to deal with a lot of sexism in the first 2-3 years of my film career. When I was supposed to shoot for two films simultaneously, One of the project got delayed due to lack of Hero's call sheets. When I decided to work for second movie during that period, Makers were't keen to shoot as the Hero offered them different dates. Only the opinions and dates of Heroes mattered,' complains the Senior Actress.
Asked if this is the reason why she began signing only female-oriented films, Vidya Balan clarified she didn't enjoy being part of films like 'Kismet Konnection' and 'Heyy Baby'. Post 'Ishqiya', She decided to work only for those films she like.
