For any film, a good initial has become highly important as the films don't have legs to continue at the box office after the initial weekend and first week at the same pace even if its a hit after second week.
So, bringing an initial is highly important in today's market. The stars get high remunerations as they can pull off good initials.
Ravi Teja has been a box office star from early 2000's and he has a good following in the youth. But after Raja The Great, he is unable to find the same reception at the box office.
Nela Ticket, his last release couldn't even get an opening on the first day. His other movie, Touch Chesi Choodu has been a disaster too.
On the other hand, Vijay Devarakonda has become a huge box office star among the young brigade. Geetha Govindam, that released early this year showed how popular he is among today's youth.
His disaster NOTA got a good initial on first day and it could reduce the losses otherwise makers could have incurred. Now, Ravi Teja who missed conflict with him on October 5th with Amar Akbar Anthony is conflicting with him as Taxiwala is releasing on 17th November, one day after his film release.
The advance bookings for Taxiwala are encouraging but Amar Akbar Anthony are not so. Seems like Vijay has got the first advantage in the box office fight.
