It is known that directors like Ramgopal Varma are hailing Vijay Devarakonda as Telangana Super Star. Some people with caste prejudice have already attached caste tag to Vijay Devarakonda. They are praising him that a Velama Super Star has entered the Tollywood where Kamma, Kapu stars dominate the scene.
It is known that Telangana Chief Minister also belongs to the same community. There are some reports in the media that Vijay Devarakonda is a relative to KCR. Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao who has been opposing 'Arjun Reddy' film also highlighted the relationship of Vijay Devarakonda with KCR family. He alleged that KCR is fully supporting 'Arjun Reddy' because Vijay is his relative. It is known that Vijay gave a counter to these allegations with an open letter to VH.
Vijay has responded on his relationship with KCR family in a recent interview.. he accepted that he has a distant relationship with KCR family. He said that theirs is a small community so there is no surprise that they will have relationship somewhere. But he said that his family doesn't have any relations with KCR family and he has never met him till now. He said that he likes KCR's son KTR.
