I Didn't Support Anand's Decision - Vijay Devarakonda
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 July 2019 12:23 AM ISTVijay Devarakonda broke into tears talking at Dorasani pre-release event. He talked about his brother, Anand Devarakonda and said that he couldn't be for him during his starting days.
He said, "My little brother used to follow me everywhere. He was so attached to me that he wouldn't go even to his classroom for days. I was in 4th standard then and he was in 1st.
He studied Engineering, struggled to go to USA, got a job in Deloitte kind of a big company. Looking at my success, I thought he wanted to stay with me.
I thought he might have felt lonely and he is coming back. I did not appreciate those decisions but accepted them, still.
One day, he said that he will act and brought a script to me. I told him, acting is not a joke and did not even talk to him for whole film. Many thought I am behind his debut but I did not even want to come to the event without watching the film.
I wanted to help him, I wanted to help the team, I wanted to help Shivatmika too. But I did not understand if they have it in them to toil hard and make a film, make it as actors.
I am amazed as I saw the film on 6th July. I am amazed by Director Mahendra, I am amazed by the grit these kids showed in taking all the trolling and those hardships made them strong. I really felt a magic in the film and that will make it a success for sure.
When my little brother sent us money from USA, it helped me not be the bread earner and follow my dreams (tearing up)... I feel I should've been there for him from the start but I am glad that he did not need me until the film is finished and today, I am promoting a good film I liked but not my brother!"
Dorasani is the debut film of Shivatmika Rajasekhar, Anand Devarakonda directed by Mahendra, releasing on 12th July.
