Since the time the release dates of Amar Akbar Anthony and Taxiwala were announced, there was a buzz in the industry that the clash between the movies would not be a healthy aspect for the distributors. The films are announced to have a release on 16th November initially and both of them are coming from big production houses.
Both the films are of medium budget range and they are coming on a non-holiday season and it would surely affect the films. Hence, the producers have held discussions and came to a conclusion to come to the theatres with the gap of one day.
Now, the latest decision results in Taxiwala releasing with the delay of a day and there is no change in the release date of Amar Akbar Anthony. Talking about this delay, Vijay took to Twitter and said, "Release date announcement -#Taxiwaala will now arrive Nov 17! Driver arriving a day late, but driver promises a fun ride to the destination!"
