Thalapathy Vijay became a huge star after facing down time before 2010. His 50th film became a huge disaster but 12 films later he is challenging even Rajni with revenues Tamil Cinema never seen before.
His Mersal became a huge hit in 2017 and Sarkar in 2018 also managed better revenues even though its box office status in controversial. Some say it is a hit and some prefer to call it a flop.
He is back to make a movie with Atlee, who delivered Theri and Mersal with him. Now, both of them are trying a sports drama ala Chak De India.
The movie starring Shah Rukh Khan is called modern day cult classic by youth and the song has become an anthem.
This one will take football as the story element and a total of 30 girls have been cast in the film it seems. The movie will be different to all Thalapathy films before and Atlee who is known for using commercial formulae invented by Shankar and Mani Ratnam well, is trying to bring CDI to Tamil Cinema it seems.
