Silent films have paramount importance in the history of Indian cinema. The silent film in 'Pushpaka Vimana' in 1987 with Kamal Haasan in the lead role had just delivered a career-defining role and aced his reputation as an actor. The film created a sensation and never again has there been another silent film of that level.
None of the star heroes went silent to play an intense role like that. But now it is good news that a Kollywood star actor Vijay Sethupathi is ready for a silent film.
Known to be a mass hero, the Master star has chosen to make his debut in Bollywood with a silent film. Helmed by director Kishor Pandurang Belekar, the movie has been titled 'Gandhi Talks'.
Describing it his dream project, the director of the film said that he had been working on the script for 19 years. Recently, the movie First Look, the title logo has been released. The film is set to release all over the country. The rest of the casting for the film has not been revealed yet. It remains to be seen whether the 'Gandhi Talks' will be as sensational as the Pushpaka Vimana.
