A Sentimental Hello!
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Dec 2017 2:45 PM GMTIn film Industry or even in our daily life, we see people following different sentiments. Some go to distant villages and give milk and other eatables to shrines every month as a ritual. Few others try to follow wearing a lucky shirt or a vest or a trouser when they are doing an important job. Even our parents encourage us to visit a nearby temple when it is an important day for us.
What about Vikram Kumar who made films like Manam, 13B and 24. Well, the director seems to have a connection or a sentiment to name his leading ladies at least one of them as Priya in his movies. In 13B, Neetu Chandra's role is named as Priya. The movie became his break through hit and then in Ishq, his main lead actress, Nitya Menen's role is named is Priya. Similarly, in Manam, Samantha is named Priya and Nitya Menen's role in 24 is named Priya.
Well, the director had a rather disappointing start to his career with Ishtam and a Tamil film with Simbhu. Ever since, he got success with 13B, he has been using Priya name. Even in Akhil's Hello, the heroine is named as Priya. Is this a sentiment or an obsession, we don't know yet. Many directors used to have such sentiments like naming their lead roles as Radha earlier and until, recently, VVVinayak used to name his heroines as Nandhini.
