Other Language Films, Not Allowed?
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 April 2018 7:40 AM GMTTamil Cinema is going through a big crisis. Film Producer Council there is trying to sort out Digital Service Providers fee issue and few others but Theatre Owners are not ready to comply.
TFPC has announced strike against Digital Service Providers, on 1st March along with Telugu Film Chamber and Exhibitors and Theatre Owners also complied.
But on 16th March, TFPC brought in new demands to the front to Theatre Owners that every Theatre should be computerised and online booking charges should be reduced.
Theatre Owners are not ready to listen to these demands. While the debate and discussions are going on, Tamil Industry except for few films, has come to a stand still, as all the shoots have been cancelled.
Now, the Theatre Owners are releasing al Non-Tamil language films like Rangasthalam, Ready Player One and many more for audience to not miss their cinema Entertainment.
Looking at this TFPC president Vishal, after receiving numerous requests to stop the screening of other language films, started discussing with other language film chambers and producers to see that they don't release their films in Tamil Nadu theatres.
The fight is still going on and TFPC is adamant about their demands being met for the strike to be called off. Meanwhile Rangasthalam made much of this scenario and collected, 70 lakhs gross in Chennai City, over the weekend.
Well, this is also a factor in TFPC trying to aggressively push other language films to not be released in Tamil Nadu.
