OTT Giants Drop Telugu Directors & Picks Up A Tamil Filmmaker!

OTT giant Netflix needs no introduction. Apart from giving content in all languages, it is spreading its wings in India too. It produced a lot of Hindi web-series and some Tamil directors too gave original content to Netflix. The popular OTT platform is yet to make its mark in Telugu as it is just buying films and not producing any own content.
Though they planned some shows and movies in Telugu, they aren't moving at the pace they desired. The Telugu version of 'Lust Stories' started but no one knows how far it came. Netflix even announced a series titled 'Baahubali- Before The Beginning' a couple of years back but there is no news about it.
Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru worked on this project but their work failed to impressed the people in Netflix which is why the project is side-lined. Now they are planning to start it again but with another director at the helm of things. A young Tamil director named Vishwesh Krishnamurthy who is going to make his debut with AR Rahman's '99 Songs' has been roped in.
Though '99 Songs' hasn't been released yet, the Netflix officials were reportedly impressed with his work and gave him the responsibility of handling the 'Baahubali' series. Let us see what kind of output he brings.
