What Happened To The Mega Heroes?

Compared to the other heroes, the domination of Mega heroes in Tollywood is quite evident. Around dozen heroes have arrived from the Mega family and most of them arrive with at least one film each every year. We find a Mega film setting the box office on fire throughout the year.

But movies of Mega heroes are not becoming successful which is disappointing the fans heavily. Due to the pandemic, not many films have been released in the last two years. But the recent releases are far from impressing the audience and turned into failures which is worrying to the fans.

As we know, Pawan Kalyan gave his comeback to films with 'Vakeel Saab' which is a remake of the Hindi film 'Pink'. There were high expectations on this film and it got a good talk too. But the film did not manage to cross the breakeven mark for some reason thereby leaving a few distributors in losses.

'Supreme' hero Sai Dharam Tej scored back-to-back flops like 'Solo Brathuke So Better' and 'Republic'. Even his brother Panjaa Vaishnav Tej who made a splendid debut with 'Uppena' last year bagged a big disaster in the form of 'Konda Polam' which was directed by Krish. Both Sai Dharam and Vaisshnav need to score a big hit with their next outings. Even Mega son-in-law Kalyan Dhev scored a disaster with 'Super Machi' which came out during the Sankranti season.

Pawan Kalyan once again arrived with 'Bheemla Nayak' which is a remake of 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'. This most-awaited movie came out on 25th February and got a lot of positive response. The ratings were good but the movie did not get good collections barring the first day. The film did a massive business but it ended up being an above-average venture at the box office.

Recently, Megastar Chiranjeevi arrived with 'Acharya'. Ram Charan played the guest role in this movie too and it got a negative response right from the morning shows. Mega fans were heavily disappointed with this film and the collections are quite low for this big-budget movie.

A few weeks back, Mega Prince Varun Tej bagged a huge flop with 'Ghani'. Though Charan got a blockbuster like 'RRR', the success of this pan-Indian film is because of Rajamouli and he walked away with all the credit. Also, it was a multi-starrer with Charan and NTR.

While all the Mega heroes are struggling to find success, Allu Arjun who developed an image for himself scored a blockbuster like 'Pushpa'. He is maintaining his distance from the Mega family lately. Mega fans are hoping that their heroes regain their form and deliver super hits once again.

Coming to their future projects, Megastar is working on 'Godfather' and 'Bholaa Shankar' which are both remakes. He is also doing 'Walter Veeraiah' under Bobby's direction. He even okayed a few other projects. Pawan is doing 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' at the moment and has 'Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh' in the pipeline.

Ram Charan is currently working on a pan-Indian project under the legendary Shankar's direction. This untitled film is produced by Dil Raju. He also announced a film under talented filmmaker Gautham Thinnanuri's direction.

Varun Tej's 'F3' is ready to release on 27th May and he gave his green signal to a film under Praveen Sattaru's direction. While Kalyan Dhev is arriving with 'Kinnerasani', Vaisshnav Tej is getting ready with 'Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga'. After recovering from the accident, Sai Dharam Tej recently resumed the shooting.
