Kabir Singh is the remake of Telugu Arjun Reddy and it went on to collect 200 crores Nett gross from Indian Box Office with astonishing 100 crores from Mumbai and Delhi circuits.
Movie looks like it can touch 250 crores by the end of third weekend even though World Cup games seem to play major hurdle for films, this week.
Now, the trade is looking to understand who deserves more credit for the succcess - Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director or Shahid Kapoor, the hero? Who is the real Kabir Singh?
As the director was able to make similar kind of films with two different actors with same story in two languages, and make the movie a box office success in both of them, he should be the real winner of the credit games.
At the same time, the story is completely character driven and if people don't see a compelling performance from competitive actor, then the movie won't click.
Well, both deserve the credit for success but Sandeep Reddy Vanga, proved beyond any doubt that he has a clear cut vision for his story and could bring it with utmost respect to craft. Hence, he gets a little bit more high percentage than Shahid Kapoor or Vijay Devarakonda in both the languages.
In Telugu, he produced the movie himself and had to endure lot of stress to complete the process. So, even the actors won't mind seeing him given more credit for the success and Shahid could never cross 200 crores as a solo hero and this is first film to do so. He will agree that the director and writers, deserve much credit for this than him!
