Who is The Winner Of Diwali Weekend?

Karthi's 'Sardar', Vishwak Sen's 'Ori Devuda', Manchu Vishnu's 'Ginna' and Siva Karthikeyan's 'Prince' arrived on Friday. Of them, 'Sardar' and 'Ori Devuda' were the ones which got universal positive talk while the other two managed to get an average reaction from the critics as well as the public.
Trade sources reveal that it is Karthi's 'Sardar' which is attracting and impressing the audience the most. The promotional content was quite good and with the talk being super positive, the audience are showing interest in stepping into theatres for this film. Karthi who scored a big hit in the form of 'Khaidi' on Diwali a few years back has struck gold once again according to reports.
Karthi played a double role in this spy thriller directed by PS Mithran. Quality content is backed by a solid performance from the lead actor and it is doing good business in Tamil as well as Telugu. Nagarjuna released this film in Telugu under his 'Annapurna Studios' banner.
Vishwak Sen's 'Ori Devuda' too managed to get a good response from the audience. Victory Venkatesh played a cameo in this movie which was a remake of 'Oh My Kaduvule'. Directed Ashwath Marimuthu who directed the original handled this remake too. This movie is made under PVP as well as Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.
Siva Karthikeyan's 'Prince' got average openings. Directed by Anudeep, this movie was produced jointly by Sunil Narang, Suresh Babu and Puskur Ram Mohan. Vishnu's 'Ginna' got a lukewarm response from the audience and the collections prove it. The overseas collections of this film are too bad.
'Kantara' which was released in Telugu last week is still going strong at the box office. Overall, it is Karthi's 'Sardar' which is a bit ahead of other films in this Diwali race. 'Ori Devuda' and 'Prince' are behind this movie. In order to cash in on the long weekend, the makers have to promote their films aggressively for the next couple of days.
