Why Did Puri Jagannadh Sell His House?

Director Puri Jagannadh is going through a rough phase in his career with continuous failures at the box office. Though he pinned his hopes on his last film 'Paisa Vasool' with Balakrishna, it also turned out to be another disappointment. Now, Puri has put all his efforts on 'Mehbooba' to give a perfect launchpad to his son Akash.

It is known that Puri has produced this film under his own banner. He has reportedly sold his house for Rs.21 crores to invest on 'Mehbooba' as per the talk. Trade was not so keen on buying the distribution rights of 'Mehbooba' considering the poor track record of Puri in the recent years. But the situation has been completely changed after the trailer release. After watching 'Mehbooba' special screening, Dil Raju got impressed with the output and gave a handsome offer to Puri for the distribution rights in two Telugu states.

Puri has made table profits on the film already. As he got his investment back, he started constructing a new house at a prime location in Hyderabad. It is really good to hear nice things about Puri. But we have to wait and see whether Puri will bounce back with Mehbooba or not.
