The theatres' issue regarding the Sankranti releases is getting heated up with each passing day. The Producers Council announced not to allot more theatres to dubbing films and give first priority to straight Telugu movies. There is a lot of debate surrounding the dubbing film 'Varasudu' which is produced by Dil Raju.
The star producer owns a majority of theatres in the Telugu states. There is a lot of criticism on him as he is reportedly blocking most of his theatres for his own movie 'Varasudu'. He gave double the amount of theatres to 'Varasudu' in comparison to what 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' got.
During a recent interview, Raju said that he is not a saint to set aside his own film and allot theatres to other movies and made it clear that his production gets the first priority in the theatres that he owns. He stated that 'Varasudu' will have a grand release all over the Telugu states.
While it can be justified since it is his own production, he bought the dubbing rights of Ajith's 'Thunivu' and is releasing it in Telugu as 'Thegimpu'. He is releasing both these movies in the Telugu states and it looks like these two flicks are going to get more theatres compared to Chiru and Balayya's movies.
A few people are bashing Raju claiming that he is doing this to flex his superiority. They claim that Dil Raju did not like the idea of Mythri Movie Makers opening a distribution office and that is the reason behind him playing such a game. Insiders are saying that Dil Raju is making sure that every big film gets released by him or the star hero works under his banner from now on.
