Who Is Rallapalli? Why It Is Important To Remember Him?

He started out as a theater artist at an young age in his village in Anantapur and earned fame as a stage artist in 1960's.
He pursued acting while doing a Government Job to support his family. His fame as a writer and actor did spread to Chennai as well.
He is known as the acting guru of Tanikella Bharani on stage and he did many plays close to 500 before starting his acting career in Telugu Cinema.
In 1974, he got an offer to act in Stree and to pursue his acting dream seriously, he decided to quit well paying government job and struggled in Chennai.
He soon met Kodi Ramakrishna, Vamsy who liked his dialogue delivery and they changed his fate forever. Vamsy used his impeccable talent to scare people while making them laugh in Anveshana and Ramakrishna used his dramatic abilities in Alaya Sikharam.
After Alaya Sikharam, he became a overnight favourite of directors and Anveshana gave him variety to play with and not just comic roles. In Ladies Tailor, he has just one scene and with just one scene, he could etch a name for himself in the classic.
Vamsy repeated the role in few movies too. Rallapalli had a very generous look towards life and even though he was a teetotaler, he never discouraged anyone from their habits or distanced them away due to them.
He used to let his house in Chennai be a hub for strugglers. Tanikella Bharani too in his initial days stayed in his home for over an year and he said in an interview that Rallapalli used to even give him money during those days.
He never denied anyone who came for his help and even though that did put him financial troubles, he never let it affect him.
His character and his acting abilities make him a legend in Telugu Cinema. Even Chiranjeevi couldn't control himself from giving a moving tribute to the man. Such was his charisma and people loving nature.
His death due long illness did make Industry sad but his fans and Films, will always remember his name as one of the finest and best ever.
