Why Mega Camp Dropped Film Studio Plan?

Until few years ago, Mega Family has seriously considered the idea of establishing a Film Studio either in Kokapet or Visakhapatnam. Chiranjeevi had even expressed his displeasure on then TDP Government over lack of cooperation for the proposed business establishment. However, Megastar is now in no mood to set up a studio either in AP or Telangana though he is maintaining good relations with Chief Ministers of both the Telugu States.
What could be the reason behind the U-Turn of Mega Camp? Already, There are well-established Studios in Hyderabad such as Ramoji Film City, Annapurna Studios, Ramanaidu Studios and Prasad Labs. It won't be easy for new players to attract the Production Houses in such a situation. On the other hand, Setting up a Film Studio in a city like Vizag which is prone to cyclones is always risky. Ramanaidu Studios in Vizag suffered a loss of Rs 2 crore because of Hudhud Cyclone.
In the Digital era, Filmmakers haven't been solely on Film Studios to get the job done. Usage of new technologies and highly sophisticated equipments simplified shooting in real locations. That is the reason why the revenues of existing Film Studios that rely mostly on shoots has reduced in the recent years. Taking all these factors into account, Mega Family took the call to withdraw the idea of establishing Film Studio.
Instead of setting up Film Studio, Available land in Kokapeta was used for erecting massive sets to shoot films produced by Konidela Productions. That's not a bad idea at all..!
