Why Sumanth, Why Not Chay?

The expectations on the biopic of legendary actor turned politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao are sky high. It is known that Balakrishna is playing the role of his father NTR in the movie. The makers also roped in stellar cast for other lead roles in the film.
It is known that Sumanth is playing the role of Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the movie. But in 'Mahanati' movie which came out as the biopic of legendary actress Savitri, Naga Chaitanya played the role of ANR. Then why director Krish roped in Sumanth to play the role of ANR when Akkineni Naga Chaitanya has already done the same role in 'Mahanati' has become a million dollar question? When asked the same question to Sumanth in an interview, the actor said that he had watched 'Mahanati' movie and he really liked Chay's acting and truly enjoyed the scenes between Chay and Keerthy.
He added that 'Mahanati' only showed the younger version of ANR whereas NTR biopic showed ANR's role from 20 to 60 years of age span and age might be the only reason why the makers opted him. On the other hand, 'NTR Kathanayakudu' is gearing up for a grand release on January 9th, 2019.
