Why Should I Go & Ask For Their Dates?: MS Raju
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 July 2021 6:30 AM GMTAce producer MS Raju is known for churning out sensible love stories like 'Varsham', 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana', 'Okkadu', 'Manasantha Nuvve' and others in the early 2000s. He was involved in these films not just as a producer but also as a story writer too. He made many young heroes into stars with his films and introduced a lot of new talent. Devi Sri Prasad was given his first chance by MS Raju through 'Devi'. He turned into a director and introduced his son Sumanth Ashwin with 'Tuneega Tuneega'.
After a long gap, he directed another youthful romantic movie named 'Dirty Hari' which got a good name. Now, he is all set to come up with another love entertainer named '7 Days 6 Nights' later this year. He recently spoke to the media and revealed some interesting facts.
Talking about 'Dirty Hari', MS Raju told, "It was a profitable venture. We made good money. I am trying to make films in different ways not missing the trend. Many talked in many ways when I announced Dirty Hari. But at the same time after watching it, they called me and appreciated for the kind of film I made. Some of them have got surprised to know that I can make films of this sort."
When asked about not working with big stars anymore. MS Raju commented, “The actors those are in pan Indian canvas now, once upon a time worked for me. I invested more than that of their market value of those days but never banked on their stardom to sell the films. When they have more choices now why should I go and ask their dates? I made Dirty Hari and the hero and heroine have got some good name. I work with those who are available for me."
MS Raju also told how he wants to project his upcoming film as a hero-driven film. He stated, "7 Days 6 Nights is the film with appropriate casting. This is not a hero-driven film. Our PR team advised me to release a poster in such a way that my son looks prominent. But I negated the idea. I want to pitch the characters not the actors. How many can say the names of the actors in Avatar? Its only James Cameron's name that made the film historical at the box office. No film surpassed it till now. I made a film titled Devi with snake which worked at the box office. So, I go by that confidence."
