Will 'Love Story' Get An OTT Release?

Sekhar Kammula's 'Love Story' is one of the most awaited releases this summer. With Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the lead, the 'Fidaa' director once again tried to take us for a romantic ride with 'Love Story'. The chartbuster 'Saranga Dariya' too raised a lot of hype on this movie and set the stage perfectly for its theatrical release on April 16th.
But luck did not favor the 'Love Story' team as it got postponed due to the Coronavirus. The film was supposed to get released in the summer of 2020 if Corona didn't come into the picture. It was already a year late when it was arriving in April and we don't know when it is going to come out now. Sources say that there may not be any big releases for the next 2-3 months.
Considering the hype and craze, 'Love Story' is definitely the top priority of all the OTT platforms. They may offer the makers huge sums of money to select digital release over theatrical release which may not happen anytime soon. But what will the team of 'Love Story' do now?
We have seen films romantic dramas like 'Uppena' doing phenomenally after the lockdown has been lifted. Some say that they can wait for the theatres to reopen as the reception will be very good. But others say that 'Uppena' had a lot of factors going its way like the people craving for theatre experience after a long time and government allowing 100% occupancy at the same time and positive vibes all over it.
While 'Love Story' may get good reception in theatres, it is already kept on hold for a year and the longer it is kept in boxes, the more pressure the producers are going to face from the financiers. We need to wait and see in which direction this 'Love Story' goes.
