Will Paid Premieres Work Against 'Radhe Shyam'?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 March 2022 7:16 AM GMTThe trade pundits are expecting heavy footfalls at theatres this weekend with the arrival of 'Radhe Shyam'. Prabhas is arriving after three years with this romantic drama set in the backdrop of 70s Europe. This movie which is releasing on 11th March is made on a budget of around 300 crores and Prabhas is promoting the film in the best way possible.
With the new permissions given by the AP government, the film's unit decided to go ahead with paid premieres. As you know, there are humongous expectations on this project and analysts are expecting record opening day collections. The paid premieres are going to start from the evening of 10th March. This will help in getting tremendous collections for the film and if the positive talk spreads early, 'Radhe Shyam' is sure to enjoy a great weekend at the box office.
While the positive side looks bright, there is a risk attached too. 'Radhe Shyam' is not your regular commercial drama that makes fans go wild during the premieres or early morning shows. This is a complete love story which is set in the seventies. The European backdrop will bring a different touch to the film and it is to be seen how the hardcore masses embrace it.
Also, filmmakers decided to keep the story under wraps to give the audience a surprise while watching the film. We are seeing a lot of people recording key scenes on their phones and uploading them on the internet right from the morning. If such things happen through paid premieres, the surprise element in 'Radhe Shyam' will be lost.
While everyone hopes that these paid premiers have a positive effect on the film, some of them are a bit worried too. Let us wait and see what happens in the coming days.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, this epic love drama has Pooja Hegde playing the female lead named Prerna. Prabhas will be seen as a world-renowned palmist in this movie. This movie is produced under UV Creations, Gopi Krishna Arts and T-Series banners. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor for 'Radhe Shyam'.
