Will The Team of 'Radhe Shyam' Accept This Deal?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Jun 2021 1:10 PM GMTFrom the past few days, the news of 'Radhe Shyam' getting a huge deal from OTT giant Amazon Prime Video has been doing rounds all over. Apparently, this Prabhas starrer has got an offer of 400 crores for a direct digital release by Amazon. People close to T-Series has confirmed about the deal and claimed that they are discussing it with other investors.
This period romantic drama was started as 150 crore film but the successive delays and script changes increased the budget. Adding the interests, sources say that the cost went over 330 crores and they still got some portions left to shoot which will be wrapped up once the lockdown is lifted.
Considering the budget and people's fear to go back to theatres immediately, it may be risky for the makers to release it on big screens as per the experts. Also, it is a classy film with romance as its theme unlike 'Saaho' which is an action film. The latter got huge collections due to its visual splendor despite its lack of able storytelling. This may not be the case with 'Radhe Shyam' was it may not have the same appeal and love stories are often slow-paced which may or may not please the masses.
With interests still piling up, many feel that this deal from Amazon is worth considering. Recently, Salman Khan's 'Radhe' came out on a direct-to-home basis which worked well. The film got good money despite the disastrous talk. We need to see what decision 'UV Creations' and the rest of 'Radhe Shyam' team takes.
