Antonov AN 225 Mriya, which is popularly known as World's Largest Cargo Aircraft, landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. It is powered by six turbofan engines and the take-off is up to 640 tonnes. This marks the largest & heaviest plane's first visit to India.

Anil Ambani's Reliance Defence entered into a deal with Ukraine's ANtonic Company for the sake of repair, manufacture, maintenance and assembling of platforms in India. This deal paved way for the Largest Cargo Aircraft's entry into India from Turkmenistan. Aircrafts with 50-80 seating capacity will be built with the collaboration of Reliance Defence & Antonov.

About 200 medium lift turbofan aircrafts were required for transport support of Army, Air Force and Para-Military Forces. This could cost anywhere around Rs 35,000 crore.
