Regardless of the lukewarm reviews, Kalki managed to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024. The film collected over ₹1100 crore at the global box office and stands to be one of the biggest hits of all time in Indian cinema.

The discussion is about the sequence of Kalki, which is currently in the earliest stages of production with director, Naga Ashwin occupied with the scripting process. Meanwhile, the producer of the film Ashwini Dutt has dropped a set of key pointers about the sequel, which will be starting with the shooting pass soon.

Ashwini Dutt revealed that the second part of Kalki will primarily revolve around three main characters from the first part - Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. He entered that the film might entirely be revolving around the series of events related to these three main characters that were primarily established in the first part.

Addressing the complaint that Kamal Haasan was perhaps under utilised in the first part veteran producer, Ashwini Dutt revealed that this will be set right in the second part. He confirmed that Kamal’s character in the second part of Kalki will be an elongated one, and he will have a whole lot of screen time when compare to the first part.

Considering the gravity of Deepika Padukone character from the worst part, the natural expectation that she will have extended run in the sequel.

Another possibility here is that there will be no more major introduction of new characters in the second part as we already have more than enough set of characters from the first part. There are natural doubts about whether or not, Vijay Devarakonda Arjuna character will be reintroduced in the second part but this will be answered only after the release.
