A Special Year For Tollywood At Awards Ceremonies!

2023 is a memorable year for the Telugu film industry. Some of the most memorable things to happen to the Indian film industry that can be scripted in gold have arrived from Tollywood. The dream of every Telugu actor became true this year and it is what happened this year.

SS Rajamouli who represented Telugu cinema on a global stage with 'RRR' has brought an Oscar award. This magnum opus which was released in 2022 earned more than 1000 crores and it got huge international recognition. Biggies like Steven Spielberg and James Cameroon praised the film and the 'Naatu Naatu' song from the movie made everyone dance. This song was composed by MM Keeravani and sung by Rahul Sipligunj along with Kaala Bhairava. Chandrabose wrote the lyrics while Prem Rakshit choreographed it. This song won the Oscars and the music composer along with the lyricist received it on the stage. Also, the two singers sang it live at the Oscars which was a great recognition. The song even won a Golden Globe Award. The film's director Rajamouli and actors Ram Charan and NTR received multiple international awards at various film festivals.

At the National Awards, Tollywood dominated completely as Devi Sri Prasad got the award for Best Songs while MM Keeravani bagged the award for Best Background Score. 'RRR' became the Best Picture while Action Director King Solomon won the award for Best Action Director. Prem Rakshit, Kaala Bhairava and Srinivas Mohan too got the National Awards in their respective categories. Chandrabose became the best lyricist for a song in 'Kondapolam' while 'Uppena' became the Best Telugu film in the Regional category. The biggest award however went to Icon Star Allu Arjun as he became the first ever Telugu actor to receive the National Award in the Best Actor category.
