The plight of the new releases has been disastrous to say the least as not a single one of the new releases could make any traction at the box office.
Previous week’s films Coolie and War 2 could not generate much. Comparatively The Rajinikanth film could at least post some mention worthy revenues in the Telugu states in the second weekend, but when it comes to the NTR film, it could not bring any audience to theatres.
On the other hand, we have the newly released film Paradha. This film has Anupama Parameshwaran in the lead roles, and it was extensively promoted as a content driven film that comes with a strong narrative.
But this film could only generate mixed reviews. On top of that, it could not bring the audience to theatre at a decent capacity, and it is now turning out to be one of the biggest disasters again.
Mahavatar Narasimha is the surprise winner again, as this film is still going strong, even and it’s that weekend, as it has struck a chord with the family audience. This film could breeze past the 300 crore mark at the global box office.
The stage is now set for the theatrical release of OG, which marks the return of Pawan Kalyan to the big screens, and this film is now expected to set the box office on fire after the release. Until then, we do not have any too many options.
