Rajamouli Drops Bombshell: Baahubali Epic, Not Re-Release
The announcement has stirred fresh excitement among fans. Released first in 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning changed Indian cinema forever.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 27 Aug 2025 2:49 PM ISTLike a precious diamond taken out of its box, polished, and presented with new shine, Baahubali is returning once again, but not the way many imagined. Director SS Rajamouli has clarified that Baahubali: The Epic is not just a re-release of Baahubali: The Beginning or Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Instead, it is a reimagined presentation, where both films are cut together into a single grand narrative.
The announcement has stirred fresh excitement among fans. Released first in 2015, Baahubali: The Beginning changed Indian cinema forever. With its world-class visuals and massive storytelling, it took Telugu cinema beyond borders. Its sequel in 2017 pushed boundaries further, becoming a milestone for Indian box office history. Even after ten years, the saga continues to inspire filmmakers and audiences alike. The return of this story in 2025 feels like a festival, not just a film release.
Rajamouli has explained that this new version has been recut, remastered, and fine-tuned for today’s audience. The teaser has already caught attention, with whispers about CGI upgrades and even the possibility of unseen footage. Though the team has not confirmed the additions, industry talk suggests audiences may get a few surprises. Rajamouli said, “Both Baahubali films were one story at heart. This time, I wanted to give fans not what they have already watched, but what they should have always experienced.”
Scheduled for release worldwide on October 31, 2025, during Prabhas’ birthday week, Baahubali: The Epic will come in IMAX, 4DX, D-BOX, Dolby Cinema, and more premium formats. It’s not a re-run, but a rebirth. Audiences will step back into Mahishmati, not as a memory, but as a fresh journey retold for today’s big screen era.
