While many people from the industry blame popcorn prices and remuneration of heroes for the flop show of movies, surely they are not the main things to to blamed. It’s the content of the movie that clicks, and the overdose of a certain type of movie has surely overworked the bored the audience.
Backing the similar thought, today ace director Sai Razesh, who has carved out films like Hrudaya Kaleyam and Kobbari Matta with Sampoornesh and delivered a blockbuster musical bonanza like Baby, has stated that some genres are completely killed. “The situation in Tollywood right now is very bad. Genres like rom-coms, thrillers, and commercial templates are not even working. Baby movie wouldn’t even collect half of what it collected back then, two years ago. There’s a lot of changes that have happened now,” said Sai Rajesh.
Hailing that his good friend Dheeraj Mogilineni is backing lots of meaningful cinema in these turbulent times, Sai Rajesh praised him for bringing out movies like The Girlfriend and now Summer Holidays. Well, most of the films that worked at the box office in the recent times are also not great in terms of content, but it’s the execution and promotion that actually matters.
