Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli are currently working on the biggest project in Indian cinema in the form of Varanasi and the latest interview given by these two top individuals, reveal interesting details about the film.

SS Rajamouli’s prestigious film Varanasi is shaping up to be an experiment never seen before in Indian cinema. Expectations are growing rapidly after Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed exciting details in a recent interview. The film is being described not just as a movie, but as a historic cinematic journey.

Mahesh Babu admitted that he was initially scared when he heard the script because of its massive scale and the depth of his role. He said he completely transformed his walk, posture, and body language for the character.

In a surprising revelation, the actor trained rigorously for six months just to perfect a single shot. He also spent nearly a year learning Kalaripayattu to achieve the stance of Lord Rama, saying the effort felt worthwhile once he saw the final frame.

The team emphasized Rajamouli’s obsession with perfection, revealing that some scenes required nearly a hundred takes, with each frame taking around 20 hours to render. Rajamouli also dismissed rumors that the teaser used generative AI, stating that such claims undermine the team’s artistic effort.

It was further established that there is going to be this one particular dance number, featuring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra that will be shot on a huge scale. After the epic Naatu Naatu from RRR, which won the Oscars, it is expected that this song will be on a bigger scale.

Prithviraj’s wheelchair reportedly acts as a weapon in the film, hinting at a powerful villain. Shot for IMAX, the globe spanning adventure travels from Antarctica to Africa before reaching Varanasi, and is set for a worldwide release in 2027.
