I Did My Groundwork For Kaantha: Bhagyashri Borse

Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati starrer Kaantha features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead. Although the actress has already appeared in a couple of Telugu films, Kaantha was the first project she signed.

Bhagyashri affirms that Kaantha is a very special film for her. “It’s a character with immense scope for performance, and I was very excited about it. Sharing the screen with Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati made it even more special for me.

Getting a character like this as a newcomer is truly a stroke of luck. I took it on as a challenge and did all the necessary groundwork to portray Kumari. Since the film is set in the 1960s, recreating that era was quite a task. I observed the performances of legends like Sridevi and Savitri and, taking inspiration from them, created my own version of Kumari.”

The starlet is all praise for her director, Selvamani Selvaraj. “Selvamani Selvaraj is an incredibly talented and kind-hearted person. His goodness reflects in his writing. I was amazed by how beautifully he wrote the character of Kumari. He brings out the best in every actor, and I feel blessed to have worked under his direction.”

Bhagyashri also adds that Kaantha gave her a real opportunity to showcase her talent and will bring her immense recognition as an actor.
