Box office talk: Promising film became a disaster

There are certain times in the film industry where certain films show a big deal of promise, but end up as disasters at the box office. On such film that is in discussion now is Bhairavam. The film had decent promotional material before the release. However, it is turning out to be one of the biggest disasters in terms of theatrical returns.

The latest box-office reports are suggesting that this film could be one of the big loss incurring films in recent times. Things are not looking very promising for the buyers as they appear to be staring at huge losses.

It is being reported that several factors hurt its performance. It released during the IPL 2025 final, and the re-release of Mahesh Babu’s hit film Khaleja also drew away attention. As a result, Bhairavam only earned about 30% of its cost in the first weekend. The film had a budget of over ₹30 crore and is expected to recover only 40%, leading to big losses.

Critics had mixed opinions while some liked the acting and action, many felt the story was weak and lacked freshness. Overall, Bhairavam is heading towards being a flop at the box office, and it may not do much better on OTT platforms either.

But nevertheless, it is paining to see such a promising film that had a pretty significant star cast go down the drain due to the lack of interest from the common audience.
