‘Bhimaa’ Will Give You A New Experience In Theatres: Gopichand

Mass hero Gopichand is arriving with a complete action thriller titled ‘Bhimaa’. This interesting flick is directed by A Harsha while it is produced on a big scale by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts. Malavika Sharma and Priya Bhavani Shankar are the heroines in this movie. The teaser, trailer and songs have generated a good response from the audience. ‘Bhimaa’ is releasing on 8th March and the promotions are on full swing. Hero Gopichand recently interacted with the press and shared some details regarding ‘Bhimaa’.

How did the journey of ‘Bhimaa’ start?

The movie’s co-producer Sridhar garu introduced me to director Harsha during the time of Covid. He narrated a story to me during the pass time. Though it was good, I thought it was not right at that point in time. I asked him to come up with a different police story. He arrived with ‘Bhimaa’ story after 8 months. I liked the story and the characterization of ‘Bhimaa’. I loved the semi-fantasy element in the movie too and it is how the movie began.

How is your character going to be in ‘Bhimaa’?

When you want to kill an evil, you need a very powerful guy which is why the title is ‘Bhimaa’. It is a commercially packed movie that has a lot of intensity. There are many elements like love, emotions, romance, action and many more. I strongly believe that ‘Bhimaa’ stays with you even after stepping out of theatres. Director has fantastically blended the semi-fantasy element into the film’s story. There is a strong emotion behind every action sequences. I believe that the audience will connect with the emotion.

You have done a lot of police roles in your career. How is ‘Bhimaa’ different from the rest?

I am a different cop in ‘Golimaar’. ‘Andhrudu’ is a love story with a police backdrop. ‘Souryam’ is different as well. ‘Bhimaa’ is entirely different from these three movies. The semi-fantasy element brings a lot of freshness to this police story. This is what impressed me the most and I believe that the audience will like it as well.

A lot of people are drawing comparisons with ‘Akhanda’. Did you not find any similarities?

No. The Aghoras, color palette and the music might have given that feel but ‘Bhimaa’ is an entirely different story. It is good to be compared with ‘Akhanda’ (laughs). ‘Bhimaa’ happens in Parasurama temple and it is why we took this backdrop.

Did you give any inputs after listening to the story?

I said what I felt after listening to the story. But Harsha is a very experienced director. He did a great job and penned a spectacular screenplay. The story is gripping with a lot of twists and fantasy elements. The hero’s name is ‘Bhimaa’ as it is apt for the story.

Tell us about the characters of Malavika Sharma & Priya Bhavani Shankar.

Both Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma’s characters are crucial to the story. They are vital for the narration and serve a strong purpose.

How is Ravi Basrur’s music?

The music in the trailer is fantastic and his work in the movie is going to be even better. He woks with complete dedication.

Is the Shivaratri release because of the Shiva element in the story?

Not at all. Everything fell in place like that and it is what lord Shiva decided.

A few words about producer Radhamohan.

Radha Mohan garu is very close to me. I did ‘Pantham’ with him. We are very friendly. He is a gentleman and makes films on a grand scale.

Do you have any plans to be a director like your father?

Direction is a very tough job. I cannot do it.

Is there any chance of you working with Prabhas again?

We have been planning to do a film together for a long time. We don’t when the right time is but we will definitely work together again.

About your future projects.

Movie with Sreenu Vaitla is going on. 30% of the shooting is done. There is going to be a film with Praasad garu. The story works are going on with Radha and it will be in UV Creations banner.
