Janhvi Vs Kriti: Bollywood’s Hypocrisy Exposed

When the film Peddi got released, more than Telugu movie lovers, it’s Bollywood critics who blasted the film for the way Janhvi Kapoor was objectified in the film, according to them. Even though the film is set up in the 90s and has costumes that the people of that area wore, they still, they have made director Buchi Babu Sana apologise to the audience. However, when the same thing is done in the Cocktail 2 movie now, featuring Kriti Sanon in a two-piece stunt, the critics stood silent. Have a look at the hypocrisy.

Already, various clips of how Kriti Sanon was shown in the film, as Shahid Kapoor looks at her, and she takes a dip in the sea wearing a two-piece bikini, are doing rounds everywhere. Showcasing those pictures, many are wondering why Bollywood objectified Kriti big time that they want to put a camera on her waist, back and bikini tops in that scene, thereby going against their woke-liberal principles.

When some critics questioned this, many Bollywood activists are replying that Kriti should be wearing nothing but a bikini on the beach and there’s no wrong with that. In that sense, what is wrong with Janhvi Kapoor’s costumes in Peddi is the question now. They say that she’s showcasing lots of skin, but then, it’s that character’s wish, isn’t it? Those Bollywood critics who said Peddi is wrong are now batting in support of Cocktail 2, thus exposing the hypocrisy big time.

On the other hand, Cocktail 2 was downright rejected by the audience for its bland content, but the film opened at ₹12.5 crores at the box office.
