What was meant to be another busy shooting day in Ladakh turned into a night of worry. A Bollywood film crew working in Leh was struck by food poisoning late Sunday, sending over a hundred members to SNM Hospital. Many complained of stomach pain, vomiting, and giddiness within hours of their meal, forcing a rushed evacuation under freezing conditions.

Hospital authorities confirmed it was mass food poisoning. Nearly 600 people had eaten at the set before the outbreak. With patients arriving in large numbers, doctors had to pull staff from different departments, while police managed the crowds in the emergency ward. The quick response prevented panic, and by Monday morning most were stable and discharged.

The incident has already raised doubts about safety measures at large shoots. Food samples have been sent for testing, and officials say accountability will be fixed once reports arrive. For now, questions remain about catering standards, who supervised the meals, and whether any well-known actors were among those affected.

Leh has long been a favourite backdrop for filmmakers, from 3 Idiots to Lakshya and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The breathtaking mountains continue to draw film units, but this episode is a reminder of the risks behind the camera. In a region where conditions are harsh and resources are limited, even one mistake can bring the entire set to a halt.
