Boom Boom sets the stage for Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude

The first single from Dude, the upcoming film of actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan has finally been released. The song, titled Boom Boom is a lively and colourful track that has already caught the attention of fans. Composed and sung by Sai Abhyankkar with lyrics by Patru Das and the number is designed as a high-energy dance song.

The music video of this song shows visuals shot across the city, including popular spots like the beaches, Mount Road and Omandurar Hospital. The vibrant song also highlights how the makers created a colourful, fun-filled video. Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju are seen enjoying the peppy beats, and the track also features several dancers, giving it a festive mood.

Directed by debut filmmaker Keerthiswaran, Dude marks Pradeep’s fourth outing as a lead actor. He is already well known for Love Today, a blockbuster film which he also directed. After that, he starred in Ashwath Marimuthu’s Dragon, and he will also be seen in Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), which is expected to release in October.

Along with Pradeep and Mamitha Baiju, the film also features Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, and Dravid Selvam in key roles. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Dude will be released in multiple languages — Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Notably, this is Mythri’s second Tamil project after Ajith Kumar’s recent hit Good Bad Ugly.

Keerthiswaran, who is making his debut with this film, had previously worked as an assistant director with Sudha Kongara. He was part of her team in Soorarai Pottru as well as in anthology films like Paava Kadhaigal and Putham Pudhu Kaalai. With Dude, he steps into the spotlight as a full-fledged director.

The technical team of the film includes cinematographer Niketh Bommi and editor Barath Vikraman. The makers have planned a Diwali release for Dude. Interestingly, the film will clash with Mari Selvaraj’s Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram, and Pradeep’s own Love Insurance Kompany, which is hitting theatres just days before the festive weekend.
