Sukumar’s Assistants: Hype Bigger, Reach Lower?

Just for two films, we can’t deny that, but somehow it looks like two of Sukumar’s assistants who have created immense attention with their debut movies are struggling with their second ones. Maybe the hype that is getting bigger around their movies is struggling to meet expectations, and that is making the reach lower. Here’s an interesting observation.

Director Buchi Babu Sana, who comes from Sukumar’s forte, has scored a major blockbuster with his debut, Uppena. The same is the case with Srikanth Odela, who delivered Dasara, and Karthik Varma Dandu delivered Virupaksha. All three are very popular associates, and they delivered very good movies on the first attempt. Now, let’s have a look at the second attempt.

Buchi Babu’s Peddi managed to work out in Telugu but has miserably failed in North India and North America. The film has its share of controversies too. Then comes Srikanth Odela, who has come with The Paradise teaser the other day, and a section of the audience hasn’t liked it. Coming to Karthik Varma, his film Vrushakarma has finished post-production long back, but is struggling to release.

Somehow, the second films of Sukumar’s assistants are getting into issues in one way or the other is a feeling that’s in the air. However, if one film clicks, surely the opinion would change big time.
