By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Feb 2025 5:38 PMPiracy remains a major concern for the Indian film industry, with movies often being leaked online within hours of their release. The latest victim of this issue is the recently released pan-India romantic drama Thandel starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi.
In a shocking incident, a pirated version of Thandel was allegedly screened on an APSRTC bus. The news spread quickly, drawing strong reactions from the film’s producer Bunny Vas. Expressing his outrage, along with media interaction held today, Bunny Vas also took to social media to condemn the act stating:
"We have come to know that an @apsrtc bus (Service No: 3066) played a pirated version of our #Thandel.. This is not only illegal and outrageous but also a blatant insult to the countless individuals who worked tirelessly to bring this film to life. The movie is the dream of artists, the director and the producers,” he penned.
He further urged APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao to take strict action against those responsible stating the need to set an example to prevent such incidents in the future.
Responding to the controversy, APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao has ordered an official inquiry into the matter. The authorities are expected to investigate how the pirated content was accessed and displayed on the public transport service.
With an official inquiry underway, all eyes are now on APSRTC to see what measures will be taken to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
