By: Shanaz B Syed | 22 Aug 2025 1:21 PM ISTMegastar Chiranjeevi has completed 70 years, but he is still active like a young hero. Even now he is competing with this generation, making movies, and entertaining crores of fans. He has seen all kinds of success, name, fame, money, respect. He set trends with his dances and fights, and he carried the mass hero image for decades.
But Chiranjeevi himself says there is one gap in his career. In many interviews, he admitted that while he enjoyed superstardom, he could not do enough roles that stay forever in history. Movies like Rudraveena, Swayamkrushi, Apadbandhavudu, and Daddy showed another side of him, but he feels those were too few. “I got the name of a commercial hero, but I missed doing many emotional roles,” he said once during Sye Raa promotions.
Recently, at the success meet of Kubera, Dhanush spoke about the beggar’s role and how such characters test the actor. Chiranjeevi agreed with that thought and indirectly hinted again that he always wanted such roles but did not get enough chances. Even after reaching the top, the megastar’s heart seems to crave those meaningful parts that bring respect as an actor, not just stardom.
Now fans are waiting to see if he will take that turn in his second innings. Will he continue the mass formula, or finally pick films that satisfy the artist inside him? At 70, Chiranjeevi is still going strong, but the question remains, will he get to play his dream roles before calling it a day?
