Chiranjeevi Controversy: Why People Still Dragging It?

Megastar Chiranjeevi is usually no shot of public attention, and this is mostly due to the fact that he is a huge superstar and commands humongous following in the Telugu community. However, this occasionally leads to detrimental narratives against him.

The same happened at a film event recently when Chiranjeevi funny remarked that his house is loaded with granddaughters and it resembles a girls hostel. This was a very generic and light hearted comment from Chiranjeevi as he was of the implication that his house is full with granddaughters, and he wishes to have a grandson soon.

However, this statement was largely crucified and diverted in many ways by social media users and the matter has now reached a point where BJP senior leader to Kiran Bedi has reacted on this matter.

“#Chiranjeevi ji Please start believing and realising that a daughter too is a legacy and no less. It all depends on how u bring up the daughter and how she keeps evolving. Please learn from parents who brought up their daughters to make a place for themselves and were well cared for them and made their families proud. Equally made lives better whoever they worked for or served.” She stated.

It is evident that Kiran Bedi took this issue very seriously and is looking to milk the controversy further. She clearly came out with the intent of changing the perception of Chiranjeevi with regard to this earlier comment from the senior Hero.

However, the point that must be noted, here is that Chiranjeevi made this light hearted comment without any hidden apprehensions. He even stated that he is happy to have his house filled with female granddaughters, who bring a lively vibe to the entire household. It was just a generic statement from Chiru to Ram Charan to bring a grandson into the house soon so that there is some sort of balance.

While this comment was very much on a fun note, it is strange to see a completely different discourse about gender neutrality that is being carried on social media. This wasn’t the intention of Chiranjeevi right from the start, and it is sad to see such controversies happening around such petty things.
