Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu’s All-Time Record Opening!

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited film Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, aka #MSG, was released the other day amidst huge expectations. Directed by the hit-machine Anil Ravipudi, the film opened to positive premieres on Sunday night itself, and the positive talk continued to bring mammoth openings.

On Day 1, Chiranjeevi shattered his own previous records as the film Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu grossed around ₹84 crores from the worldwide box office. That’s the highest ever opening day for Chiranjeevi in his illustrious career, proving that stardom translates into massive viewership when clubbed with the right content.

On the other hand, #MSG sold more than 488K tickets on the ticketing platform BookMyShow within 24 24-hour span. In fact, this is a new all-time record for regional cinema on the platform. Considering that this is a family drama, the sales of tickets could be purely attributed to Chiranjeevi’s unmatched stardom, while Anil Ravipudi’s content helped crack the code to success.

In the Overseas market, especially in North America, Chiranjeevi's starrer has clocked $1.7 million in revenue already. For the premieres and first day collections, this is the record collection for Megastar, as his previous Khaidi No 150 collected around $1.3 million. With the Sankranthi holiday wave kicking in, surely the film is likely to post big numbers in the first week.
