The film got instant hit talk from all quarters, with many praising Chiranjeevi’s comedy timing and how Anil Ravipudi utilised his vintage acts very well.
What actually made Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu very special for some people is that the Megastar has addressed some of the criticisms without saying a word. The first such contributing factor is the avoidance of glamour-driven romance. For films like Khaidi No 150 and recent Bhola Shankar, Chiranjeevi got slammed by critics for romantic songs and pouring glamour of heroines like Kajal and Tamannaah. In this latest film, neither Nayantara nor Catherine was shown as over-glamorous, though they looked beautiful.
At the same time, another factor is that there is no single punch dialogue in the movie. Many have earlier complained that punch dialogues from senior stars remind the youths of the 90s films, but nothing new. In Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Chiranjeevi’s dialogues are natural sans punch dialogues and warnings, and that worked to a greater extent.
These two factors have silently given Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu a different color and that’s working in favour of the movie at the Box Office. Well, senior stars should understand the current scenarios and change the movie plans accordingly. Then it will work big time.
