For the past few days, there has been a lot of talk about Chiranjeevi's comments on re-recording. Some people on social media thought that Chiranjeevi's comments seemed like a joke aimed at Rajinikanth's Jailer. While this debate continues, a director's remarks about Chiranjeevi turning down a Rajini film have grabbed attention.

Rajinikanth's movie Baasha is still a favorite among movie lovers. It set a standard for heroism and storytelling that inspired many other directors. The idea of a regular guy with a hidden past is a theme that is still used in movies today, and it all started with Rajinikanth's Baasha.

The director of Baasha, Suresh Krishna, shared an interesting detail when discussing the film's impact. When asked who would be suitable for a remake of the film, he said it would require a superstar to do justice to the role.

Interestingly, in the 1990s, after the huge success of Baasha, Suresh Krissna said he planned a Telugu remake with Chiranjeevi, but it didn't work out because Chiranjeevi had other commitments. Rajinikanth then asked if Mohan Babu could do it, but the director felt it needed a star of even greater stature, someone like Chiranjeevi. Since plans with Chiranjeevi fell through, they released a dubbed version of Baasha, which also became a massive success in Telugu.

When asked which Tamil actor could play the role of Baasha today, the director suggested that among the current stars, Ajith Kumar would be a good fit.
