This Christmas week is turning into an exciting period for Telugu cinema, especially for medium-budget films. With no major star release dominating the Christmas week, two movies are getting a best chance to shine. Among them, Champion and Shambhala are carrying strong expectations and have already become the most talked about releases of this festive window.

Coming to Shambhala, the film is very important for actor Aadi Saikumar. After a few films that did not perform well, this movie is being seen as his comeback attempt. Industry talk suggests that the story is quite engaging which is one of the main reasons behind the strong buzz. Promotions have also been aggressive creating curiosity among movie lovers. Many feel that if the content connects well, Shambhala could surprise everyone at the box office.

On the other hand, Champion, starring Roshan Meka has also generated good attention. The storyline hints and recently released song have increased interest in the film. The visuals look neat, and the heroine’s screen presence has been positively noted by audiences. With youth-friendly elements and a sports-based theme, Champion is being seen as a film that can attract families and young viewers during the holidays.

The Christmas release rush happened mainly because Akhanda 2 arrived on December 12 instead of its earlier December 5 plan. This forced many small and mid-range films to move their release dates. As a result, Christmas week has become crowded with several releases. But Champion and Shambhala is what getting all attention.

Along with Champion and Shambhala, films like Eesha, Annagaaru Vastaru, Dandora, Mark, Vrushhabha, Pathang, and Vanara are also lining up for release. Some of these are dubbed films, while others are small budget originals.

Nearly eight films are set to hit theatres in the last week of December. The real competition will be about content and audience word of mouth. This festive season, before the big Sankranthi releases arrive, Telugu cinema is all set to witness an interesting and healthy box office battle.
