Christopher Nolan received a warm welcome from Indian fans during a special event in Mumbai to promote his upcoming movie The Odyssey. The famous Hollywood director visited India along with actors Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and producer Emma Thomas.

Speaking to the audience, Nolan said that although he had visited India before, this was the first time he had launched one of his films in the country. He told fans they were among the first people in the world to watch the movie, making the event even more special.

Nolan shared that India has always been close to his heart. He has filmed scenes for movies like The Dark Knight Rises in Jodhpur and Tenet in Mumbai. He praised Indian movie lovers, calling them some of the most passionate and knowledgeable audiences in the world. He said it was a dream come true to experience the film with fans in India.

The event became even more exciting when Nolan playfully asked the audience, "Who is better – Matt Damon or Tom Holland?" His question brought loud cheers and laughter from the crowd, while both actors smiled at the fun moment.

Matt Damon thanked the audience for their wonderful response. He said the team had worked very hard to make the film and was happy that fans enjoyed watching it on the big screen. He added that the movie was the result of the efforts of thousands of people who worked together to create something special.

Tom Holland also thanked Indian fans for their love and energy. As soon as he came on stage, the audience welcomed him with loud chants of "Spidey." Holland said Indian audiences always make movie events unforgettable with their excitement and support. He also praised Christopher Nolan's work and said he was eager for everyone to watch the film.

Producer Emma Thomas also expressed her happiness about being in India. She thanked the audience for giving the team such a warm welcome and said it was a privilege to visit the country.

The Odyssey is based on the famous Greek epic by Homer. The story follows the adventures of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, as he tries to return home after the Trojan War while facing dangerous monsters, gods, and many difficult challenges. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, and Charlize Theron. It is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on July 17, 2026.
