The film is facing controversy as film producer Jitendra has accused director Sanoj Mishra of unprofessional behaviour, including being a drunkard and behaving inappropriately with aspiring actresses. "He takes girls to Mumbai to get film opportunities and behaves inappropriately. Not a single film of his has been released. He is using Monalisa," Jitendra said. Director Sanoj Mishra has denied these allegations.

Monalisa, who hails from Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, gained overnight fame for her striking eyes while selling garlands at the Maha Kumbh. The attention, however, became overwhelming, with crowds disrupting her work and leading her to leave Prayagraj.
