The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, features Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead and includes big names like Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan. Anirudh composed the music. With the shoot complete and the buzz picking up, the audio launch in Chennai brought in strong reactions from fans and stars alike.
During the event, Akkineni Nagarjuna praised Coolie, saying it felt as grand as a hundred-language film. As for why Nagarjuna played a villain, Rajinikanth shared that it was a film dialogue that changed his mind. It reminded Nagarjuna of a line from Ajiths Gambler, How long will you keep playing the good guy? That thought pushed him to try something different. Rajinikanth said even Kamal Haasan was surprised to see Nag in a negative role.
Rajinikanth also spoke about his own journey. He said hard work alone isnt enough; luck and blessings matter too. He recalled his early days as a bus conductor and how a friend once gave him a gold chain and told him to act. You can have money and fame, but without peace at home and respect outside, it means nothing, he said. Upendra, other film crew, and industry members were also part of the event.
