Film producers have been facing serious problems for a long time because of fake ratings and reviews on BookMyShow. One major issue is that people can post reviews even if they have not bought a ticket. Because of this loophole, many organised groups started using bots and fake accounts to either damage a movie or falsely promote it.

Several producers have raised this issue earlier. When some films were badly affected, the makers openly spoke about their frustration. Producer Naga Vamsi once revealed that producers were sometimes forced to spend extra money just to protect their films from negative rating attacks.

Now, the situation has changed with the upcoming film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. For this movie, BookMyShow has completely blocked ratings and reviews. A message on the platform clearly states that this action was taken following a court order.

Because of this decision, fake accounts and bots can no longer post extreme negative or positive ratings for the film. Reports say that the legal process behind this move took several weeks before it was finally approved and implemented.

The production house Shine Screens thanked Ai Plex and Blocking Big for taking the initiative and helping make this change possible. The team shared a public note to express their appreciation.

In the past, BookMyShow ratings were often misused by anti-fans to harm films. At the same time, some average movies gained inflated ratings, which helped them get better OTT and satellite deals. From both sides, this court-backed step is being welcomed as a necessary and healthy change.
