After legendary composer Ilayaraja lashed out at film producers for using his songs as remixes, he went to Court and got an order that he should be paid royalties while using them. Recently, composer Koti of the Raj-Koti duo also made the same allegations, but he didn’t ask for money, but at least a word as a token of respect. This is regarding the usage of the Kannepettaro song from the Hello Brother movie for the “Dacoit” teaser.

Speaking at the press meet of Dacoit movie, where they have confirmed that the film was shot for 149 days, and hence they have called the press to showcase how hard they have worked to carve out this Adivi Sesh star, the other day, producer Supriya Yarlagadda of Annapoorna Studios made some major revelations.

Reacting on the words of former music Director Koti, who has alleged that the makers of Dacoit haven't even called him to take permission regarding the use of Kannepettaro Kannu Kottaro remix song, Supriya stated that most of the producers after making a movie, will sell off the audio rights and other rights to various parties, and wouldn't even remember about it later.

Only after hearing Koti garu’s words, I met Aditya Music, took NOC for the song, and then met Koti garu as well, where we laughed about everything. I don’t know that singers will get royalties for a song even after years, and we worked it out, she said. Well, not only their controversy, but actually Surpriya’s reaction is realistic in terms of how producers will not be able to approach the old music composers for their songs.
