Shocking: Deepika Padukone not part of Kalki 2898 AD sequel

Deepika Padukone has made her Telugu debut with the highly revered Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD. Her performance has received critical and public appreciation. In a shocking twist, the actress has quit the highly anticipated sequel. Production house has accepted the same due to her unreasonable demands, say reports.

Officially, confirming the news of parting ways, production house Vyjayanthi Movies have tweeted on X, "This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD.

After careful consideration, We have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership.

And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works."

Nag Ashwin is currently scripting the sequel as the first one became a huge money spinner collecting Rs.1100 crores gross worldwide. More details will be announced soon by makers.
