"Why Are They Targeting My Film?" Deewana Director Asks

Telugu romantic drama 'Deewana' has become one of the most talked-about films in recent days. While the movie has been receiving positive responses from many viewers, director Sreekanth Sangishetty recently expressed his disappointment over the negative comments being spread about the film.

During a media interaction held, the director shared his emotions and questioned why some people were trying to bring down the movie. He said, "I really don't understand why this film is being targeted negatively. I don't know how much more it can take."

The director also used a famous Hindi song to explain his feelings. Quoting the lyrics, he said, "There is a Hindi song that says, 'You call love a sin and try to destroy it. How innocent you are. You are only adding fuel to the fire.' My Deewana means that much to me. I love this film even more than the love story of Salim and Anarkali."

His statement quickly went viral on social media. Many movie lovers appreciated the director's honesty and passion for his project. Several fans also extended their support, saying every filmmaker deserves a fair chance and that audiences should watch the film before judging it.

Meanwhile, Deewana has shown a positive trend at the box office. After collecting around Rs 4 lakh on its opening day in India, the film earned approximately Rs 25 lakh on its second day. This took its two-day India net collection to Rs 29 lakh, while the worldwide gross collection reached around Rs 33 lakh. Still after a week, the film is running in few theatres.

The romantic drama, starring Harshith Reddy in the lead role, has been praised by many viewers for its emotional story, screenplay, music, and performances.
